The checker reads fifteen signals grouped into four layers. Retrievability asks whether an AI system can get the page at all. Extractability asks whether it can pull a clean, self-contained answer out of it. Entity clarity asks whether it can tell who published this and what it is. Machine-readable signals cover the redundant statements that help a parser recover when something else goes wrong.
What it does not do is predict whether you will be cited. Nobody can, and any tool claiming a live citation-probability score is modelling something it cannot observe. This measures the part you actually control: whether the page gives a retrieval system enough to work with in the first place. A page that fails these checks is being reconstructed from prose alone, and reconstruction is where misrepresentation starts.

Run this against a few pages that already rank well and the pattern shows up quickly: strong traditional rankings and weak machine-readability travel together more often than you would expect. They earned their position on links and relevance, which still works, and they are handing AI systems nothing but prose to interpret.

No, and any tool claiming to is modelling something it cannot see. Citation depends on the query, the model, the retrieval index, and the competing sources at that moment. What can be measured is whether your page gives a retrieval system enough unambiguous signal to use you at all, which is what this checks.
Why does my page rank well but score badly here?
Traditional ranking rewards links, relevance, and engagement. AI retrieval additionally rewards being explicit: declared entities, structured data, and answers that stand alone when lifted out of context.
