AI Findability

AI findability is the ability of an AI-powered search, retrieval, or answer system to discover a source or entity and connect it to a relevant question. It covers access, indexing or retrieval eligibility, topic alignment, and entity clarity. It does not establish that the system cited, recommended, or accurately represented the source.
Findability is the earliest useful layer of AI search visibility. A page must be reachable and relevant before it can become a useful source. Citation and recommendation happen later and need their own evidence.
Improving AI findability normally involves crawl access, internal discovery, direct answers, clear entities, accurate structured data, and content that matches the question being asked.
The distinction matters because a crawler request proves access to a recorded URL, not successful use inside an answer.
