Conversational Search Visibility

Also known as: Conversational AI Visibility

Conversational search visibility is the degree to which a source, brand, or entity appears accurately and usefully when a search experience answers natural-language questions across one or more turns. It includes retrieval, mentions, citations, answer continuity, and whether follow-up questions preserve the correct entity and context.

Conversational visibility differs from a single-query ranking because the question can be refined during the exchange. A source may appear in the first answer and disappear after a follow-up, or become useful only when the user adds a constraint.

Measure it with a controlled prompt sequence, not an isolated screenshot. Record the starting question, follow-ups, system, date, entities mentioned, cited pages, and whether the facts remain accurate across turns.

It is one part of AI search visibility, not a replacement for traditional search performance.
